The eleventh annual Pennsylvania State Envirothon was held recently here at the Penn sylvania Power and Light Com pany’s (PP&L) Montour Preserve. The 1994 Envirothon cham pions arc from Parkland Senior High School in Lehigh County. Second place went to Red Lion Area Senior High School in York County. Bluet. Mountain High School in Schuylkill County fin ished third. Teams of five students from 51 counties participated in the En virothon, which challenges the students’ knowledge in the five natural resource areas of aquatics, forestry, soil, wildlife, and current environmental issues. More than 5,200 students were involved in local Enviro thons this past spring. The annual slate program is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Dis tricts, the Slate Conservation Commission, and the Hershey Foods Corporation.
