Tmcklot buying interest was generally
light and unaggressive. Offerings were at
least adequate on everything with bone-in
breasts, legs, and leg quarters usually in the
longest position. Some interest was deve
loping as prices became increasingly com
petitive, however, dealers were having a
difficult time in securing product at desired
price levels. Most traders continued to
work with minimal floor stocks.

Prices were unchanged to higher in the
Northeast and Midwest, unchanged else
where. The market tone was fully steady to
firm. Retail demand remained fair to good,
best where featured. Food service demand
was mostly good. Supplies of the large
sizes were short to adequate, and mediums
were barely adequate to ample, and held
with confidence. Breaking stock was bare
ly adequate to adequate for the moderate to
good demand, and prices were higher. Live
hens were adequate for the unaggressive
demand.
