The scholars who were chosen by ADC to go to NICE, which will be held in Washington, D.C., this year, included second-year scho lars Michael Gross of Blue Moun tain, Rachel Moyer, representing Bucks/Montgomery County, and Diane Myers, representing Cum berland/Perry County. The first-year scholars who were chosen by ADC to go to NICE are Anne Fulcomer and Timothy Stone, who are both from south central. Five first-year scholars were chosen by PCC to be sponsored to go to NICE. They are Melissa Bickslerof Blue Mountain, Cleve land Morris and Jonathan Sterner, who represent Bucks/Montgom ery County, Timothy Sul, repre senting Erie/Crawford County, and Joshua Troxell of Lancaster County. Three second-year scholars will be sponsored by PCC to go to NICE also. They are Kathy Dun can representing Erie/Crawford County, Darla Herr, Lebanon/ Dauphin County, and Tony Miller of Lancaster. The Walter Loy Quiz winners were Daniel Atkins, Leb anon/Dauphin; and Colleen Mowery, Jefferson County. The Hal Doran Award was presented to Vicki Lantz as the outstanding adult resource leader. Jj Cooperatives Council Honors The alternates selected by PCC to go to NICE are first-year scho lars Meghan Leary of Blazc/Star and Lloyd Bier, Cumberland/Per ry County, and second-year scho lars Laura Hogenmiller of South Central and Brett Lentz of Leb anon/Dauphin County!. Those who attended the insti tute at the university also were told of a change at the top of PCC. Don Robinson is leaving as PCC youth director, the job that he has held since 1988. Robinson, who was on the regional council for 25 years, earned a reputation as an outstanding educator who led by example, gave the institute continued life, and strengthened the second-year program. Robinson is being replaced by Nina Redding, a native of Adams County, who still lives there with her husband, Russell. Redding has a master’s degree in home economics with a special ty in education and administration and is active in several profession al organizations, where she has held various leadership positions. She also has many long-time links with PCC. Redding was a first-year scho lar with PCC in 1977 and attended NICE that year in Texas. She came back on the scholar staff in Another event that involved leader from Cumberland County 1988, and she served on the adult adults at the institute came when was chosen to receive the Hal staff from 1983 to 1991.
