Farm Women 14 Our January meeting was can celled on account of the snow. For our February meeting we had lunch at Bloomfield Square and then went to Erma Brubaker’s at Landis Homes for our business meeting. No March meeting be cause of more snow. After a good lunch we sang old familiar songs. Our speaker, Joyce Bupp, told about Farm Women now and then. She took us back to the days when some of us used feed bags for pil lowcases, sheets, aprons, blouses, and dresses. We also heard about canning meats, vegetables, and fruits in the blue, green jars. After delicious cake, smackers, mints, and tea or coffee, our pro gram was given by Mary Ellen Dula. She told about her life as a missionary nurse in Africa. Her talk was very interesting as most of knew her or her family. On June 14-16, our group took a three-day bus tour to Boston, Massachusetts. The tour was well planned by Janet Leaman, one of our group. On Monday we visited Unique double insole construction. We visited Parke Street Church and Filene’s Bargain Basement We had a cruise on Boston Harbor and toured Old Ironsides. With a guide on our bus, we toured the city and saw a film in the IMAX theater. We also saw the Mayflower 11, Plymouth Rock, and toured Ocean Spray Cranberry World and saw the cranberry bogs. It was a great three-day sightseeing and educa tional tour.
