annually recognize the outstanding
achievements of local residents as
one of three types of

deserving nominees in the catago
ries of: Lebanon County Conser
vationist of the Year; Lebanon
County Conservation Landowner
of the Year, and Lebanon County
Conservation Educator of the
Year.
“The Conservationist of the
Year award will honor the volun
tary conservation efforts of an
individual or group entity that is
not necessarily a landowner,”
Wertz stated in the news release.
■ “An individual landowner, civic
organization, government agency,
business or industry making a
noteworthy contribution to conser
vation of natural resources will be
the focus of the Conservation
Landowner of the Year award.

teacher excelling in environmental
education.”
In order to make a nomination
for any of the three awards, one of
three different entry forms, each
designed specifically for a diffe
rent award, must be completed and
submitted to the district by August
31.
The entries then will be judged
by an alternating committee repre
senting the five different county
conservation organizations. Win
ners of each award will be invited
to the annual meeting/luncheon of
the Lebanon County Conservation
District on Nov. 3.
