County Dairy Princess.” She also
thanked the peoplfe of Bradford
County for their support and sent
special thank yous to her parents,
Jim and Darlene Vanßlarcom, her
family, alternates, Kirsten Mac-
Bride and Angel Butchere and
dairy princess coordinator Arlene
Wilbur. She then performed a con
tinuation of the rap that she per
formed at last year’s skit.
Second alternate Angel Butcher
also bid farewell to the people of
Bradford County. She thanked
everyone for being good friends
and for support throughout the
past year and highlighted a few
things that she learned.
“I have learned that everyone,
especially children, is eager to
learn about the dairy industry. It’s
really been a wonderful experi
ence that I’ll never forget”
Assisting the dairy princess and
her court will be five dairy maids.

Roger Madigan lead the events of
the day. He noted that all the con
testants are winners and he is
proud to'have so many people
willing to promote the dairy
industry.
“Someone spoke at a meeting a
few weeks ago that I attended, and
pointed out die real importance of
our dairy princess pageant and
dairy promotion,” said Senator
Madigan, "that we ate two genera
tions away from all of us growing
up on the farm. Today there are
only about 2.6 percent of the
populatipn directly involved in
farming, but we impact on 100

The pageant was the culmina
tion of a weekend full of events,
including a meet-the-candidates
dinner on Friday and a dairy festi
val, complete with parade, con
tests and plenty of 'food on the
morning of the pageant
