Summer Convention
ST ATE COLLEGE (Centre Co.) —The members of
the Pennsylvania FFA Association arc preparing for
their 651 h State FFA Activities Week to be held June
14-15 at the'Pennsylvania State University.
The general sessions will be held in Eisenhower
Auditorium on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7
p.m., and the final sessions arc Thursday morning at 9
a.m. More than FFA members, advisors, and
guests arc expected to attend.
The convention will feature three general sessions.
Tuesday evening will be a celebration of the 65th FFA
anniversary as well as recognizing Honorary Keystone
Degree recipients, stale officer parents, and a special
presentation by hypnotist, Dr. Jim Wand. Wednesday
evening the featured speaker will be Tyler Grandil, Na
tional FFA western region vice president. We will also
be recognizing slate citation winners, proficiency re
cipients, listening to the state chorus, and paying tri
bute to the FFA Foundation sponsors. Thursday morn
ing will feature the recognition of the state winners ir
the 26 contests as well as the election of the 1994-1995
stale officers.
Other highlights will include participation in one ol
26 career skill competitions, including prepared anc
extemporaneous public speaking, parliamentary pro
cedure. land Judging, and agricultural mechanics. Re
creational activities provide members lime to interaci
with fellow FFA members from across Pennsylvania.
The public is invited to attend any of the general ses
sions. Courtesy Corps will be available to help seal
guests.
