Volunteers Honored
Mercer County 4-H leaders were recently honored for
their volunteer service to the 4-H program. The volunteer
leaders were guests at the annual appreciation banquet
sponsored by the Mercer County Bankers Association and
Mercer County Cooperative Extension.
“4-H volunteers arc very special people,” said Beth
Lair, Mercer County 4-H youth extension agent. “The
knowledge, guidance, and support they give to 4-H mem
bers is an investment in the future. Volunteers arc the
backbone of the 4-H program. There are many young per
sons that have evolved into productive citizens and fine
leaders in society due to the support and care given by a
4-H volunteer leader.”
Wayne Rogers from the Mercer County Bankers Asso
ciation presented the 4-H volunteer leaders certificates
and awards for their 1993 year of service to the Mercer
