    Five candidates seek the
Republican nomination for
governor in the May 10 primary.
But only one candidate has
a detailed action plan for
Pennsylvania agriculture. That’s
Tom Ridge.
And only one of those five
candidates promises to overhaul
Pennsylvania Department of
Environmental Resources, and
make it a “a partner of farmers
rather than prosecutor.” That’s
Tom Ridge.
And only one candidate for
governor in the primary next
week has a solid ag record. Tom
Ridge, of course.
A six-term congressman from
rural northwest Pennsylvania,
Ridge has long championed
farmer rights on wetlands and
other issues at the federal level.
As governor, Ridge will
continue his role as a farmer
advocate,
