Annual Western National Angus
Futurity hosted ISO entries for the
Roll of Victory (ROV) Super In the 95-head heifer show, the
Point Angus Show in Reno. Nev. grand winner was WK Unique

Annual Apple Blossom
Festival To Be Held
GETTYSBURG (Adams Co.)
South Mountain Fairgrounds is
the site of the 39th Annual Apple
Blossom Festival scheduled
Saturday, tytay 7 and Sunday, May
8.
Highlights of this year’s festival
include The Canroll County dog
gers and Square Dancers, who will
perform all day Saturday in the
auditorium and Sunday on a out
side stage starting at 11 a.m. until
1 p.m.
The highlights of the weekend
activities will be the crowning of
the 1994 Adams County Apple
Queen on Sunday afternoon at
2:30 p.m.
There will be contests for apple
pie eating and apple bobbing, and
a children’s tractor pull.
A wide variety of food will be
available, such as fresh pork roast
(cooked on a spit), French fried
veggies, fresh apples, apple cider,
apple butter, candied apples, apple
cake, apple pie, apple pizza,
chicken barbeque cooked on open
pits, scrapple, sausage, funnel
cake, French fried sweet potatoes,
and apple fritters, and apple
pancakes.
There will be a free magic bal
loon show, country music bands,
chicken barebecue dinners, apple
dumplings, fritters, apple pie, and
apple pizza. All kinds of food will
be featured.
There will be free bus tours of
the orchards conducted by fruit
growers. There will be 275 top
quality crafters from Pennsylvani
a, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware
and others. There will be a blacks

for the children to make their own
designs. There will be a baby 4-H
petting barnyard for the delight of
both young and old, and a free
mule-driven hay ride.
The Apple Blossom festival is
held each year at the South Moun
tain Fairgrounds, located eight
miles northwest of historic Gettys
burg on Route 234 near Arendt
sville. The festival gates will open
each day at 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Admission is $2 per adult, child
ren under 12 arc free, and there is
ample parking for $l.
Visitors from an eight state area
are attracted to this special spring
annual event to enjoy the festival
and to view the beautiful apple,
peach, and cherry trees which are
usually in full bloom during festi
val week.

Angus Futurity Sees 150 Entries
Farm, Hillsboro, Ohio. The April
1992 female is sired by Brost
Power Drive and first topped the
junior division. The reserve grand
champion female wa's Duncans
Thunderstruck owned by Duncans
Angus Ranch of Aberdeen, Idaho.
A February 1993 daughter of WK
Thunder, she first won the early
junior heifer calf division.
In the bull show, WK Rainfall
was named grand champion. He is
a February 1993 son of Kesslers
Rainman 002 and is jointly owned
by Ty Krebs, Gordon, Neb.;
Adams Angus Ranch, Steele,
N.D.; and Rainfall Associates,
Gordon, Neb. The bull first won
the early junior bull calf division.
The reserve grand champion bull
was S A Executive owned by
Stein Angus Acres of Lewistown,
Mont. The February 1993 bull is
sired by G D A R Executive 727
and first won the reserve early
junior bull calf title.
Michael Gonsalves, Modesto,
Calif., exhibited the grand cham
pion cow-calf pair. Gonsalves’ en
try was R&J Lady 672 and her
March bull calf. The cow is sired
by G D A R Executive 727. The
reserve grand champion cow-calf
pair was exhibited by Tyler Byrd
of Red Bluff, Calif. The cow is B
C C Miss Pine Joette 58-88. She
had a September 1993 heifer calf
at side. The cow is sired by Pine
Drive Big Sky.
