SUMMARY: Complied to kit week:
Feeder steers md heifers ranged from
Sl.oo-53.00 lower, mostly $2.00 down.
Stocker steers steady to $l.OO lower; Stock
er heifer steady. Trade moderately active at
the lower levels. Demand moderate. Qual
ity of supply plain thru attractive, mostly
average. However, most feeders in heavy
May flesh and considered to be poor gain
ers in the feedlot. Bulk supply feeder cattle
off graze-out wheat. Cattle coming off ear
lier this year as they have done extremely
well on strong wheat. Weigji-ups gaunt
thru moderately full, mostly average.
Slaughter cows steady to $.50 lower.
Slaughter bulls steady. Packer demand
moderate to good. Total of 561 cows sold.
Receipts this week 16,000; last week
10,903; last year 8,914. Supply consisted
of 85 percent yearlings over 600 lbs.; 11
percent Stockers and calves under 600 lbs.;
4 percent cows and bulls. Prices follow
with weighted average weight and price in
parenthesis.
