Several Mifflinburg FFA members were recognized
for eapiing state, area and local awards during the organi
zation’s 64th annual parent-member banquet at Mifflin
burg Area High School.
Recognized for receiving the FFA Keystone Farmer
Degree, the highest achievement degree given by the
Pennsylvania FFA, were Daryl Ebersole, Gisela
Imgrund, Daniel Oberlin and Leßoy Troester, Jr.
Jayme Benner received an award as the Union County
Star Farmer from the First National Trust Bank of
Beavertown. Joshua Keister received the Star Chapter
Farmer award, Brian Reber received the Star Agribusi
ness Award, and Jeremy Dorman received the Star
Greenhand Award.
Joshua Keister received the SUN Area Forestry Skills
Award presented by Kuhns Brothers Lumber Company.
Eric Cover and Adam Heimbach were selected to receive
lambs presented by Mountain View Farm to be shown at
the West End Fair.
Chapter proficiency awards went to Tom Aikey,
achievement in volunteerism; Jeremy Beaver, specialty
animals; Matthew Christ, diversified livestock produc
tion; Lucas Criswell, feed grain production; Michael
Denius, specialty crops; Ben Dietrich and Matthew Wil
low, turf and landscape management; Daryl Ebersole,
home and farmstead improvement, and placement in
agriculture production; Chad Gessner, beef production;
Fred Grove, Jr., fruit and vegetable production: Joshua
Keister, agriculture mechanics; Jan Krout, agriculture
sales and service; Roger Kuhns, poultry production and
public speaking; Derrick Moyer, swine production;
Daniel Oberlin, forestry; Daniel Rishel, dairy production;
Jennifer Rishel and Kimberly Zimmerman, sheep pro
duction; Jeremy Stafford, horse production; Leßoy
Troester, Jr., diversified crop production, forage produc
tion and oil crop production; Michael Walter, soil and
water management; and Charles Zechman, wildlife
