Hoffmann’s government reform
package if they have any hope of
changing the way business is done
in Albany, said Terry Anderson,
the former hostage who now
heads the government reform
group New York Renaissance.
Anderson, speaking to more
than ISO Grangers gathered here
Feb. 12 for an annual Legislative
Day conference, said the organi
zation’s grassroots endorsement
of Hoffmann’s package is critical
in the effort to send a clear mes
sage to lawmakers that it’s time
for a change. The Grange’s state

works. “The legislature is ineffi
cient secretive, and unresponsive
to the needs of the people of the

Anderson was joined at the ses
sion by Hoffmann, the Syracuse
democrat who is covering the state
seeking support for her “Four
Steps to Reforming State Govern
ment” She called the legislature a
“partisan legislature that is worse
than any other in the nation,” and
called it a “terribly corrupt system
of government.”
