The 1994 Wayne County Dairy Day is to be held Thursday, March 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Wayne County Veterans Me morial Armory, located off of Tryon Street in Honcsdale. The Wayne County Dairy Day is conducted each year to recognize the importance of the dairy industry in Wayne County. Dairy Day is also a way to provide area dairymen with the latest dairy industry in formation in terms of new technology, dairy equipment, feeds and feeding programs, and more. It is sponsored by the Wayne County Co operative Extension in cooperation with area dairy supply dealers, fi nancial services and marketing firms, artifi cial insemination co operatives, breed or ganizations and farm organizations. Some of the educa tional topics to be pre sented this year are: “BST and Its Use in Dairy Herds,” “Man agement and Care of Dry Cows," and “Worker Protection Standards Train-the- Trainers.” Area dairy fanners should mark March 3 on their calendar. Crawford DHIA Report For January The lowest rolling SCC herds in Crawford DHIA as of the month of January are as follows: Topped the Penn State alfalfa germplasm trials at Landisville, PA in 1990 with a record yield of 9.28 tons per acre! That record still stands. The #1 yielder in '9l MD state test, back in the top again in '92. Plenty of additional data from Mid-Atlantic and Northeast tests in '9l, '92, '93.
