Steve and Lisa Mellott
The Mellottfarm is located in southern Franklin
County and is made up of about 450 acres of ground
being utilized mainly for corn and alfalfa
Steve and his wife Lisa and their children milk about
100 cows. They also care for about 100 replace
ments.
Steve feeds a total mixed ration balanced at 60
lbs. of milk which is made up of 60% haylage/40%
silage and 20 lbs. of a grain mix. The grain mix
contains a Purina® 38% concentrate, shelled com,
Purina® Energy Balancer® an some mineral. All
cows above 60 lbs. of milk have access to a com
puter feeder which contains Purina® SUPER COW
24%.® The average feed rate for all cows is about 5
lbs. of SUPER COW® through the computer.

SUPER COW* and also bunk supplementation.
