For the Outstanding Young Far mer Award in the under-30 divi sion, Steve and Bonnie Wenger, Lebanon, were named state win ners. Steve is in partnership with his father on Wen-Crest Farm. They have a dairy herd that has a rolling herd average 0f20,500m. In addition, they raise 150,000 turk eys and do custom field work for neighbors.'They ate members of the Cedar Crest Chapter and give active support to the local FFA by hosting tours, speaking and supp lying equipment for the chapter. They have two children, Bradley 4, and Brandon, 2. Other Outstanding Young Far mers Under 30 include: Region 2, Roger and Patti Garber, Ml Joy; Region 3, Ross and Ann Snook, West Snyder: Region 4, Todd Dur boraw, Gettysburg and Region 5, Tory Landis, Berwin. In the over-30 division, Tom and Shirley Krall, Lebanon, were named state winners. They are from Region 7 and members of Cedar Crest Young Fanners. They have an 84-cow Holstein herd that has a DHIA rolling average of 22,500 m. They use a free stall bam and an eight stall milking parlor. Many of the farm buildings ate new in the last three years as Tom believes you need cow comfort to get good production.
