Marketing Inc., the
Strongsville, Ohio dairy
farmer cooperative,
Don Schriver, MMl’s
executive vice president
and chief executive
officer, made the
announcement Jan. 4,
1994.
Stiefer’s new respon
sibilities will include
working to develop
marketing and saies
programs for both MMI
in fluid milk and its
wholly owned subsidi
ary Farmers Dairy
Foods, Inc. in value
added products.
“We’ve looked for
quite awhile to find
someone of Dave’s
caliber for this job,’’said
Schriver. “His back
ground will also be
helpful in further deve
loping the alliance
MMI/FDF has with
DMV USA and the
Dutch cooperative
Campina MeUcunie.”
In December, 1992,
MMI and DMV USA
formed an international
alliance to enable MMI
to enter the global
market.
Before joining MMI,
Stiefer was vice presi
dent, sales and market
ing, for DMV USA. Pre
viously he was president
and chief operating
officer for Western
Dairy Products, a U.S.
company which imports
and export dairy pro
ducts for the New Zea
land Dairy Board.
Stiefer will be part of
MMl’s senior staff and
report directly to
Schriver.
"Obviously we’re

background is steeped
with more than IS years
of dairy rflarketing
experiences including
sales in both national
and international mark
ets,” said Schriver.
Stiefer received his
bachelor of science
degree in business
administration from
Pacific Western Univer
sity and also studied
food science and dairy
science at the University
of Wisconsin. He also
served six years in the
U.S. Marine Corps.
MMI is a 5,900 mem
ber dairy farmer owned
cooperative encompass
ing an eight state Mid
western area including
Ohio, Indiana, Pennsyl
vania, Michigan, New
York, Kentucky, Mary
land and West Virginia.
Last year MMI mark
eted more than 3.8 bil
lion pounds or 442 mil
lion gallons of milk.
MMI marketed S6PB
1993 which includes Foods, Inc. and farm
$307 million in net sales supply, plus dues and
from Farmers Dairy service fees.

Every year, the national Hols
tein Association holds winter for
um meetings in order to hear about
herd .owner concerns. The meet
ings are held across the nation.

day, Feb. 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
