Corn Classic
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Country music star
Tammy Wynette will claim center stage
at National Com Growers Association’s
(NCGA) 1994 Com Classic, Feb. 27 -
March 1 in Denver, Colo.
Wynette’s appearance on Tuesday
evening, March 1, is sponsored by Mon
santo Company. Originally Com Classic
had scheduled Louise Mandrell as its fea
tured entertainer. However, a scheduling
change forced Mandrell to cancel.
Wynette is a legend in country music.
Recently Wynette triumphed as a fea
tured guest with The KLF on their dance
smash “Justified and Ancient.” It became
a worldwide Top 10 hit and the highest
charting single featuring a country artist
since Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton’s
“Islands In The Stream,” and even bigger
than Wynette’s signature song “Stand By
Your Man.”
As a singer, Wynette’s voice comes
from an emotionally honest place that
everyone can relate to. She also brings to
each song her tremendous touch with
gentle nuances and subtle emotional
shadings.
From the beginning, Wynette has spo
ken out for women. She sings songs about
their feelings, failings and frustrations in
a world of changing roles and expecta
tions. In addition to “Stand By Your
Man,” Wynette’s many hits include
“Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad,” “D-
I-V-O-R-C-E,” and “Til I Can Make It
On My Own.”
Wynette’s critically acclaimed “High
er Ground” duet project paired her with
Rodney Crowell, the O’Kanes, Godsin,
and Emmy Lou Harris. She’s also
received many kudos for “We’re Stran
gers Again,” her duet on Randy Travis’
“Heroes and Friends” project.
In addition to top-notch entertainment,
Com Classic also offers a mix of talented
motivational speakers and programs that
are educational and fun. Some of the top
ics include “How to Profitably Participate
in the Parallel Com Industry,” “Getting
the Next Generation Up and Running,”
“Cutting Edge Technology,” “New
Uses,” “Reclaiming Flood-Damaged
Soils,” an< “Conservation Compliance
and No-Till.”
To top off your “Rocky Mountain
High,” Com Classic boasts an exception
al trade show. Agribusinesses arc
expected to fill more than 250 exhibit
spaces with the latest innovations in pro
duction and marketing technology.

Classic, call NCGA at (314) 275-9915.
