Poland China Champion Poland China gilt, a March gilt, “excels at length of neck,” according to Rodibaugh. The March gilt, THW3S Faye 16-2, was shown by Tim Wessner, New Tripoli. Reserve of the breed went to the January gilt, CAB 3 S Balancer 1-6, shown by Cheryl Bcnnecoff, Kutztown. Rodibaugh said the gilt was a “big backed, long-bodied gill deep in the forerib.” Spotted “One gilt here excels in length of body and rump,” said Rodi baugh, nodding to the Spotted champion, a February gill shown by Russell Kegg, Bedford, RA3 Gretchen 21-5. Reserve champion Spotted gill went to a March gilt exhibited by Ginger Kegg, Bedford, GMK3 Beauty 5-7, a January gilt that the judge found “rcspeciable” because of its “nice udder and real good underline.” Yorkshires Rodibaugh said he was pleased with the champion of the York shire breed class, which showed length of neck, and “a face on her that shows broodiness.” Champion of the gilt that had a “real good rump and top on her” went to Elwood E. Houser, Lebanon, for his January gilt, EHL3 Miss Lou 7-6. Reserve went to the February gill, JLFY3 Betty 258821006 1-6, shown by Jennifer Flinchbaugh, York. Judge for the show, Jack Rodi baugh, Rensselaer, Ind. (45 miles north of Purdue University), main tains about 1,800 acres and 500 sows. His purebred seedstock operation includes Hampshires, Yorkshires, Chester Whites, and Durocs. This is the First time he judged the Farm Show. There were a total of 36 exhibi tors and 201 hogs.
