University, will be the principal
speaker at the Northeast Regional
Tomato Growers meeting on Jan
uary 6 at Thompson’s Dairy Bar in
Lackawanna County.
Developer of the subsurface
tiller - transplanter that requires no
plowing or tillage for tomato pro
duction, Morse will explain the re
search and development of the
planter and its use in other states.
A demonstration planting of two
acres of tomatoes was made this
past season in Lackawanna Coun
ty and the results will be shown.
Don Daum, Penn State exten
sion ag engineer, will explain the
use of row crop sprayers using
lower volumes of materials and air
assisted methods to improve plant
coverage.
All commercial tomato grow
ers, both fresh market and pro
