Janine Winebark, daughter of
Kenneth and Janet Winebark, of
Myerstown.
Weighing 239 pounds, it sold to
Dutchway Farm Markets for $385.
The top market lamb was a
purebred Suffolk shown by Darren
Grumbine, son of Dennis and Bar
bara Grumbine, of Myerstown.
The 134-pound lamb sold for $260
to Lebanon Valley National Bank
and Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Stewart,
of Lebanon.
Taking reserve champion mark
et lamb was a purebred Dorset
shown by Joseph Tice, son of Tom
and Debbie Tice, Ml Zion. The
118-pound lamb was purchased by
Agway Engergy Products of Leba
non for $l6O.
Overall, the sale raised a total of
$14,730 on 14 head of lambs and
66 head of market hogs.
The hogs totaled $12,745 for an
average of $193. The lambs sold
for a total of $1,985 for an average
of $141.80.
According to Kenneth Wine
bark, the annual winter roundup
showed a great deal of depth and
quality in die animals shown. The
event is held annually to help pre
pare those who are going on to the
Farm Show gain more showing
experience.
Wine bark said the support for
the youth again was excellent as in
the years past.
The pig judge was Ken Feltcrolf,
from Centre Hall, Centre County.
The sheep judge was Bill McCau
ley, from Atglen. a well-known
breeder of Suffolks.
In other business, prior to the
sale of champion, Lou Juliani, rep
resenting state Rep. Peter Zug, pre
sented a legislative initiative grant
for $2,000 to Brian Kreider, presi
dent of the Lebanon County 4-H
Beef and Pig clubs, that is to be
used for a ventillation system in the
livestock bam and some timers and
equipment for the county’s 4-H
horse program.
