Mo.—Polled Hereford exhibitors turned out in numbers for the North American International Livestock Show’s Polled Hereford Standard of Per fection (SOP) Show. Judge Dick Hubman, Central Point, Ore., appraised 139 head that included 93 heifers, three cow-calf pain, and 43 bulls. Honorees of the SOP show were Thomas J. and the late Ralph Sdth of Stith Valley Farms, Gus ton, Ky. The Stith brothen have been longtime breeders of Polled Hereford cattle and supporters of Kentucky Polled Hereford asso ciations and activities. Topping the bull show was junior champion MMPH Bingo 823. The January 1992 JCD NV Ascendant Y 26 son is owned by McMinn Ranches, Inc., Burton, Texas; John E. Rice & Sons, Inc., Sheridan, Wyo.; Big T Ranch, Jeromesville, Ohio, and Kilmorlie Farms, Inc., Bowden, Alta. The reserve grand champion bull was the junior calf champion owned by Boyd Beef Cattle, Mays Lick, Ky. Their entry was Boyd Design 7C, a January 1993 son of Boyd New Style 2A. In the female show, the overall champion female award went to the junior division winner and champion heifer, ACE RMF Fan cy Gal 898. The March 1992 BB MSU ISS Wisdom daughter is owned by Michigan State Univer sity, East Lansing, Mich., and Bar B Cattle Co., Rockford, Mich. The reserve junior champion and re serve champion heifer was the overall reserve champion female exhibited by Ellis Farms, Chris man. 111. Their entry was EF 336 Z Tonette 7728, a May 1992 heifer sired by EF X 53 Turner 336 Z. Junior member Curt Stockdale, Dayton, Pa., won the cow-calf di vision with his pair that included CS Miss Ist Flag 21A and her April heifer calf. The cow is a two-year-old GS Checkered Flag daughter, while Beau Donald Riv al sired the calf. NS Polled Here fords, Portland, Ind., owned the reserve champion cow-calf pair.
