MARY: Compared to lut week: Feeder
(teen over 700 lb*, steady to $l.OO higher
with good demand. Steer calves and all
heifers unevenly steady to $2.00 lower
with light to moderate demand. Buyers
selective for kind. Quality of supply {dain
to average. Flesh condition of calves high
ly varied from thin thru moderately fleshy
and not as attractive as last week. Yearling
flesh slightly thin thru moderately fleshy
but flesh due to wheat condition and not
particularly detrimental. Weigh conditions
avenge. Slaughter cows steady to $2.00
lower, most decline on Utility. Slaughter
bulls steady to $l.OO lower. Packer
demand light to moderate. Large supply of
bred cows sold to good demand. Wheat
pasture coming along nicely which hat sti
mulated demand for all ages of bred cows.
Receipts this week 10,780; last week
6,784; last year 6,956. Supply consisted of
51% yearlings and calves over 600 lbs.;
40% calves under 600 lbs.; and 9% cows
and bulls. Prices follow with weighted
average weight and price in parenthesis.
