In the Ayrshire breed, Warren
Burkholder, of Ephrata. received
lop honors for his herd which aver
aged 17,244 pounds of milk, and
362 pounds of protein.
In the Brown Swiss breed,
Donald Trimble, of Peach Bottom,
received top honors for average
milk production of 16,731 pounds
of milk, with 380 pounds of
protein.
In the Guernsey breed. Axel
Linde and Millie Widmann, of
Oxford, received recognition for
their herd average of 16,432
pounds of milk, and 374 pounds of
protein.

In the Holstein breed, Steve
Hershey, of Elizabethtown,
received recognition for his herd
average 0f24,962 pounds of milk,
and 772 pounds of protein.
In the Jersey breed, Kari Herr, of
Quarryville, received recognition
for his herd’s average production
of 15,516 pounds of milk, and 581
pounds of protein.
The top protein production herd
award went to Bob and Karen
Cochenaur, of Willow Street.
Their herd averaged 24,870
pounds of milk, and 783 pounds of
protein.
The low somatic cell count
award went to Curtis Akers, of
Quarryville, whose herd averaged
107,000 SCC.
