TERRE HILL (Lancaster Co.)
Among die many holiday tours
held during the Christmas season
are farmhouses, summer houses,
and other buildings once used for
agriculture.
This year, the Terre Hill Country
Road Candelight Tour will feature
a former feed store that is a single
family dwelling.
Karen Reitnouer, who with her
husband Todd and two children,
live in the two-story sandstone
home, said that the exact date the
house was built is unknown.
“But it is known to be one of the
oldest standing homes in the town
and was built during the 1800 s,”
she said.
The Reitnouers have a picture of
the home as it appeared when it
was Edward’s Flour and Feed
Store.
Changes have been made
throughout the years. The full
length porch is no longer there, but
the sandstone has been pointed.
Inside the house, several stone
walls have also been exposed. The
woodwork trim has been painted in
Williamsburg colors that accent

The former feed store as it appears today Is the residence
of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Reltnouer. Although the date the
house was built remains unknown, it is considered one of
the oldest homes In Terre Hill.

have purchased at sales or have
been handed down through the
family, such as the straw cutter,
apple picker, and school desk.
