Roy Engel became a cooperator
with the conservation district on
May 28,1985. In the time since, he
has implemented many conserva
tion practices on the farm, includ
ing 700 feet of diversions, 1,602
feet of subsurface drains, and
% acre of sod waterway. The farm
has about 34.1 acres in contour
strip cropping.
Roy is an operator on the farm,
which raises crops, but after retir
ing from Luken’s Steel in Coates
ville, he plans to become the full-
