Ken and Martha Myers, along with their sons
Jeff, Kevin, and Brian, operate Myra-Brek Farm
near St. Thomas in Franklin County, PA. The Myers
have been farming this family farm since 1970.
They grow com and alfalfa on about 400 acres to
provide feed for their dairy animals.
The Myers run out about 50/50 com silage/
hayiage on the bunk along with 5 lbs. of Purina®
Maxi-Tech 14%® as well as 8 lbs. of alfalfa hay. In
addition, the milk cows have access to a dual ration
computer feeder, of which one side is Purina® Maxi-
Tech 14%® and the other Purina® Hi-E 35% Concen
trate®.
Ken has dealt with Detrich Elevator, his local
Purina Dealer, nearly 25 years because he feels he
gets good products and service from them. Last
year, after reading a Purina newspaper ad in which
a dairyman described what Purina* Maxi-Tech® did
for his herd, Ken decided to replace his current grist

We asked Ken and his family to share some comments about their
results on Purina® Maxi Tech Completes®
■ Cows don't drop off in milk as much over the summer like they used to.
■ I feel the cows utilize the pellets better than the grist mix.
■ Individual cows are performing better, we see mature cows that averaged 16,000 lbs. of
milk now averaging well over 20,000 lbs.
■ Herd health has only gotten better - the veterinarian bill is lower.
■ I like the options and promotions that I get with Purina and Detrick Elevator, I like the firm
purchase option on complete feeds and the local mills grain exchange program.
