Her grandfather started raising honey bees during World War II when sugar was scarce. After the war, sugar was plentiful bat by then, the family was hooked on the sweet taste of honey. Her grandfather is still a bee keeper and has hives on Stepha nie's parents’ dairy farm. Nineteen-year-old Stephanis is the daughter of Samuel and Barbara Yoder of St. Thomas. Music is a strong interest for Stephanie. She is a freshman at Messiah College majoring in mus ic education. She plays die piano and saxophone. Before graduation firqm James Buchanan High School, Stephanie was active in music programs, student govern ment, and track. She is active at West Side Brethren In Christ Church with youth and a Bill-time pianist since the eighth grade. In addition to being the state honey queen, Stephanie is on her second term as Franklin County Honey Queen. She will compete for the title of American Honey Queen in Orlando, Florida in January. Honey Princess Jennifer Sue Henry is the 20-year-old daughter of Marvin and Maty Henry of McVeytown, Mifflin County. She has a yonhger brother, Justin. Jennifer can trace back her fami ly’s commercial 'beekeeping for three generations. Often visiting Pap and Orandm (Merle and Emily Fisher) at the farm, she got a look at what it takes to be a beekeeper. Her dad also has a few hives. Jennifer graduated from Lewis town Area High School and is a junior at Juniata College majoring in elementary education. She has always been active in sports, especially basketball, and plays for the Juniata College basketball team. For the past two summers, Jennifer cunseled camps for the Keystone State Basketball Camp Progam. Her activities include 4-H, cross country, and downhill skiing.
