Engineering In Ag Equipment Shown
SPARKS, Md—At a press confer

FMC Furadan 4FQ|£m Delivery
System for soil insecticides was
demonstrated at Cold Bottom
Farms. The new application sys
tem to control nutjor insect pests in
com and sorghum has been recog
nized as one of the top SO engineer
ing developments for 1993.
The new application equipment
is mounted on the planter. Since
granular Furadan has been
replaced by the liquid form, the
new equipment features a closed
system that uses 15-gallon reus
able containers with clean-lock
connections. A computer control is
mounted in (he tractor cab. Data
such as size of planter, rate of
desired application, and ground
speed are punched into the compu
ter to control the flow into the fur
row on top of the seed of each row.
“With this Custom Delivery
System, we have moved into the
future with use of insecticide at
planting time,” said Robert West,
sales representative, FMC Corpo
ration. “Granular Furadan is gone
horn the market, and flowable Fur
adan has replaced it with excellent
results.”
The application control is
extremely accurate with the new
system. In addition, the fanner has
no storage or disposal problems
with the containers.
