Animals that make the list are cows that produce, reproduce and pass on desirable traits to their offspring. The ratio for these indexes is five protein to one fat to one predicted transmitting ability for type. This list is frequently used as a screening tool by artificial insemi nation organizations for selecting dams for tomorrow’s A.I. sires.
