Rljl HAPPENINGS Local 4-H’ers Take District Honors Beverly Miller, of Scotland, will represent Franklin County 4-H Horse and Pony clubs in state competition in October as a result of recent wins at the district level in August Miller, 16, took took fust place iribbons in two classes at the dis trict production show in Shippens burg. Her first place win with her 3-year-old filly, Mschievous Crit ter, in the English Pleasure class made her the sole qualifier from the eight-county District VI for state competition. She also took a first in the weanling filly pony of the Americas class showing Crit ter’s Silver Rose. Miller also won five ribbons in the performance show in district competition in Lebanon. Berks “Outstanding” 4-H’er Berks County 4-H member Debra Beck, Hamburg, was the recipient of the 1993 “Outstanding Collegiate 4-H Award” at Penn State University. Debra was selected for the annual award by her peers and ag and extension education facility members. The award recognizes members who exhibit outstanding leadership and citizenship qualities.
