Co.) —A training seminar to help
fanners speak for agriculture and
deal more.effectively and confi
dently with the media and the publ
ic is scheduled for Friday, October
22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the
Farm and Home Center.
This “Spokesperson for Agri
culture” training program is spon
sored by the Lancaster Chamber
Of Commerce And Industry and
the Farm And Home Foundation to
help active, involved fanners to
project a positive image for agri
culture when opportunities for
public speaking or media inter
views are presented.
The instructor for the seminar is
Pat Haggerty, director. Alliance
for a Clean Rural Environment, an
organization supported by the crop
protection chemical industry. It is
the belief of the sponsors that far
mers make the best spokespersons
for farming. And to help prepare
for these opportunities the seminar
will cover topics that include publ
ic speaking, writing press releases
and letters to the editor, and how to
efficiently handle interviews by
print aitfl broadcast journalists.
