    Polled Hereford Youth Meet For National Junior Show

National Polled Hereford Show
and Forum held July 17-22 in Per

The “Georgia Or. My Mind”
Twenty-two members of state junior Polled Hereford as* -
soCiations were recognized by their respective peers dur
ing the 20th Junior National Polled Hereford Show and For
um. Recipients Qf Outstanding State Junior Awards were
presented with a certificate of merit and a $5O savings
bond from the American Polled Hereford Association. They

Particularly impressive was half

hibitors. The reserve grand cham
pion heifer and the champion
cow-calf pair were also bred and
owned entries. Judges for this
event were lead judge Tom Hook,
a Tracy. Minn., cattle breeder, and
associate judge Jeff Bedwell, in
structor and livestock judging

9208, a March yearling sired by
HPH Raceways Dasher 34Z. The
heifer was bred by RJY Polled
Herefords, Edgar, Neb., and own
ed by 14-year-old Steven Soules,
Skiatook, Okla.
The reserve grand champion
heifer was also champion of the
bred-and-owned show and the Di
vision 111 champion. She was TJ
030 Jaqui 239, a May 1992 TJ-
Jaguar 030 daughter bred and
owned by 21-year-old Kent Tjar
des, Gibson City, 111. The reserve
champion bred-and-owned heifer
was HPH Infinity 378, a Novem
ber ’92 daughter of Kilmrle Deliv
erance SOU. She came out of Divi
sion I and was bred and owned by
17-year-old Heather Hicks, Cull
man, Ala.
The champion cow-calf pair,
also a bred-and-owned entry, was
exhibited by 15-year-old Curt
Stockdale, Dayton. Pa. He won
with CS Miss Ist Flag 21A, a
2-year-old GS Checkered Rag
daughter, and her April heifer calf
by Beau Donald Rival.
Eleven-year-old Precious Allas,
Grandview, Texas, exhibited the
reserve champion cow-calf pair
that was bred by her family’s At
las Polled Herefords. The duo in
cluded Atlas Redeyed Lady 7A, a

Junior members of .the American Polled Hereford Asso
ciation had an opportunity to display their talents in the
20th Junior National Polled Hereford Show and Forum
photography contest. Polled Herefords or an activity relat
ed to the breed was the subject matter for the 62 photo
graphs entered in the peewee, Junior and senior divisions.
