Lillian Winters as co-hostesses.
For the program Candi Steiner
gave a talk on the Association of
the Blind. She had a Braille card
for each and showed different arti
cles of interest that were made.
She talked about the gift shop and
said they could use help there as
well as to work with the blind.
For the devotions Mary read “A

The Berks County Farm
Women executive board meeting
was held at the home of president
Fern Phillipy on August 30, with a
covered dish picnic. The business
meeting was opened by Fem, with
devotions by Group #7 and Dor
othy Strieker gave a reading from
a book “Minutes of Gold”, Bible
verse John 13:34; followed by The
Lord’s Prayer and pledge to flag.
The roll call question “What is
your favorite summer fruit?” was
answered by 20 members and one
guest.
Janet Schlegel reported on agri
business, stating the Farm-City
banquet is November 4 at the
Sheraton. A standing motion to
donate a food basket by Berks
County Farm Women made by
Brown’s Country Store, was
approved. Janet also showed the
brochure of Berks County that
will be updated for a new printing.

Send your favorite pork recipe to Lancaster Farming and receive a
barbecue apron. During National Pork Month in October, we will print
your favorite recipes using pork products.
The Pork Council will send the first 100 entries a free barbecue
apron suitable for men and women.
