Keith Martin, 17, son of Bob
and Marilyn Martin, Strasburg,
senior division winner, is a junior
at Lancaster Mennonite High
School and a member of the LMH
FFA.
In all, there were a total of 105
hogs and 60 exhibitors. Following

Program
DEFOREST, Wis. Two
Pennsylvania dairy herd owners
have agreed to participate in a con
tract site-sampling program with a
Midwestern artificial insemination
company.
According to statements from
American Breeders Service, head
quartered in DeForest, Wis., Paul
and Shirley Hoover, of Greencas
tle, and Donald and Robin Hamish
Jr., of Alexandria, have agreed to
use semen supplied by ABS on
their dairy cattle.
In return for using semen from
ABS. and keeping accurate and
official records on the animals and
then submitting that information to
ABS, the couples are to be paid for
each resulting calf bom.
Furthermore, the couples are to
receive another payment from
ABS for each daughter of a testsire
included on the test sire’s second
USDA summary.
According to the ABS informa
tion those who participate in the
progeny test program also have the
option of selecting semen from a
test sire, or of being sent semen of
the company's choice.
