Wednesday, September 8, 1993
Trucklot buying interest was fairly good
to very good. Supplies of boneless skinless
breasts were short of trade needs. Prices
trended higher and the undertone was firm
Line ran breasts were very tight and buying
interest went unfilled.
Prices trended higher and the undertone
was also firm. Whole legs cleared well.
Yellow skin leg quarters were tight. How
ever, buyers and sellers disagree over val
ues. Sellers asked higher prices and held
product in firm hands while buyers were
cautious going into late week. Yellow skin
wings were good at current prices. Prices
for livers trended unchanged to higher.

NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A
GLANCE; Prices trended unchanged to
lower on mediums in the Northeast; gener
ally unchanged on the larger sizes and else
where around the country. The trade senti
ment ranged steady to weak, mostly steady
to cautiously steady. Movement of car
toned eggs into retail channels was light to
good, mostly fair to fairly good. Supplies
of jumbos were in close balance, extra
large mostly adequate, large adequate to
ample, and mediums adequate to burden
some. In the Central States prices for
breaking stock were unchanged. Trading
and demand was fair. Offerings were
adequate. Most breakers operated fulltime
on regular commitments. Floor stocks
were adequate. The undertone was gener
ally steady. In the Southeast, trading in
light type hens was too thin to report prices
today. Demand was moderate but unag
gressive for at least sufficient offerings.
The undertone was about steady to steady.
