Erie County 4-H’ers
Do Well At Fair
The 1993 4-H Fair was held
recently at the Waterford Fair
grounds. According to Fair Co-
Chairman Peg Trichel of Greene
Township, this annual event pro
vided Erie County’s 4-H members
with opportunities to have their
project work evaluated and to be
recognized for their achievements.
This year’s fair featured project
judging and exhibits, a family
picnic, and Super Clubs Competi
tion, a carnival to benefit the Mus
cular Dystrophy Association, and
horse, dairy, livestock, and dog
project roundups. Members who
competed in the dairy and horse
roundups also had the opportunity
to qualify for the upcoming dis
trict dairy and horse shows.
Area 4-H’ers did well at this
year’s 4-H Fair. Rosette winners
in Friday’s project judging
included, by project: Wildlife,
Model Horses Unit 11, Beginning
Northampton 4-H
The following are the results and placings for the 1993
Northampton County 4-H Roundup.
The events were held and judged throughout the
weekend of Aug. 6-8.4-H’ers from all over Northampton
County exhibited animals and completed 4-H projects
during the weekend.
In addition to judged events, there was a dog obedience
demonstration by the 4-H Dog Club, a bicycle rodeo, a
pet parade, and group games.
Following are the results of the 1993 Northampton
County 4-H Round-Up.

The annual 4-H Carnival to
benefit the Muscular Dystrophy
Association was also held on Fri
day. The Carnival kept members
busy while they were waiting to
have their projects judged, and it
also raised a record $776.70 for
MDA. The Waterford Livestock
Wranglers 4-H Club, Waterford,
led by Dayna and Jesse Fiske,
Kim Looker, and Bud and Joanne
Moyer, raised the most money at
their carnival booths, and mem
bers of this club will have the
opportunity to present the carnival
proceeds to MDA during its annu
al Labor Day Telethon. In all, 19
4-H clubs sponsored booths and
activities at the carnival. The car
nival was chaired by Dayna Fiske,
Waterford.
The Waterford Bucking Bron
cos 4-H Club, Waterford, won the
club exhibit competition. Twelve
clubs constructed 4-H exhibits in
the Main Exhibit Building, and
these exhibits were judged on
their originality and workmanship
and on how well they told the 4-H
story. The Waterford Bucking
Broncos are led by Janice Benneit,
Sandy Mitchell, and Kevin Smith.

participated in the annual 4-H
Super Clubs Competition., The
Cloverlcaf Riders 4-H Club,
Franklin Township, teamed up
with member of the Stablemates
4-H Club, Fairview, to win this
contest. The competition featured
such athletic events as a Ski-Doo
Race on 2x4’s and a Balloon
Shaving Relay. This was the
eleventh year for such a competi
tion at the 4-H fair. The Super
Clubs Contest was coordinated by
the Erie County 4-H Teen
Council.
The Dairy Roundup on Satur
day featured fitting, showman
ship, and type judging of dairy
cattle. The Milkyway 4-H Dairy
Club, Albion, led by Diane Reiser,
Ron Simpson, and Shirley Brad
dock, won the Dairy Good House
keeping Award. Complete dairy
