Broiler/Fryer Market
Wednesday, August 25, 1993
Movement of ready-to-coolc whole birds
was slow to fair and typical of mid-week
activity. Seller offerings were adequate to
fully adequate and in dose balance at some
points on under 3 pound sizes. Live sup
plies were generally moderate. Weights
varied but were mostly desirable. Process
ing schedules remained heavy. Less than
trucklot asking prices were unchanged at
50 to 64 cents. Trade sentiment was about
steady. In the pans complex, dark meat,
particularly leg quarters were held with
confidence. Machine cut wings were slow

Broiler/Fryer Market
Wednesday, August 25, 1993
TracUot buying interest ranged quiet to
fair for immediate and but improved for
late week. Supplies of boneless skinless
breasts were irregularly distributed with
some product available but some interdeal
er interest not filled. Trading was reported
at unchanged prices. Line tun breasts were
balanced with current needs. Some product
was booked for late week delivery at lower
prices but the market appears steady. Yel
low skin leg quarters were short of trade
needs and prices trended higher. Some
buyer interest in bagged product went
unfilled. Demand for machine cut wings
slowed from early week but product
cleared satisfactosily.
