CLEARFIELD (Clearfield Co.)
The 39th annual Clearfield
County 4-H Daily Roundup was
held at the Clearfield Fairgrounds
on July 31.
Thirty-three exhibitors showed
a total of 58 animals, one dairy
goat and 37 dairy cattle. The judge
for this event was Ross Hersh
berger. Martinsburg. Blue ribbon
winner in the dairy goat category
was Melissa Civils.
Showmanship classes started at
11 a.m. with the following results:
Junior Blue ribbon winners: Ist,
Rebecca Sankey; 2nd, Laura San
key; 3rd, Justin Tekely. Intermedi
ate blue ribbon winners: Ist, Erica
Yaple; 2nd Gretchen Yaple; 3rd
Nicole Hurd. Senior blue ribbon
winners: Ist Jason Yaple; 2nd,
Dan Gearhart Jr. Overall chamr
pion was the intermediate winner.

In all-breed champion of the
four breeds represented was
awarded to Jason Yaple with his
senior 2-year-old Holstein. A best
cheese cow was selected.
This animal had to have been
shown the previous year. A block
of cheese representing the equiva
lent number of pounds of cheese
produced from one day milking
was awarded to Jason Yaple with
a Guernsey 4-year-old as cham
