NATIONAL EGG MARKET - AT A
GLANCE: Pricei were unchanged. The
trade ientiment ranged steady to cautiously
steady, mostly steady. Movement of car
toned eggs into retail channels was light to
fair. Supplies of extra large and large were
adequate or available if needed; mediums
were in close balance to tight. Prices for
nett run breaking stock trended lower in
the Central States; checks and undergrade*
were unchanged. Trading and demand was
fair. Offerings were fully adequate. Mott
breakers worked with adequate supplies
from standing commitments. The under
tone was barely steady. Trading levels for
light type hens in the Southeast had yet to
develop. Offerings were adequate.
Demand ranged moderate to good. The
undertone was at least steady.

Movement of re*dy-to-cook whole birds
remained sluggish. Seller offerings were
readily available and slow to clear. Live
supplies were moderate. Weights were
generally desirable to heavier than desired.
Processing schedules were very heavy.
Less than trucklot asking prices were
unchanged to mostly 1 cent lower at S 3 to
69 cents; however, extra supplies were
open to negotiation. Trade sentiment was
weak. In the parts complex, all items were
mote than sufficient to handle the limited
buying interest.

The market tone was about steady with
underlying sentiment becoming increas
ingly cautious. Trading continued spotty as
buyers resisted the higher asking prices.
Raw materials were usually fully adequate
with tome breakers repotting quality less
than desirable. Root stocks were in good
balance to easily handle current dealer
needs.
