Grades.
Priscilla Burt, a Toggcnburg
breeder and 4-H daily goat leader
from Quakertown, instructed the
4-H'ers in how to improve their
showing and fitting techniques.
In the Alpine class with 22
entries, Laura Anderson. Landen
berg, captured senior and grand
champion with her under 2-year
old doe, Jessmine. She also
received the reserve senior title
with a 3-to 5-year-old doe, Pene
lope. The reserve grand champion
went to Laura’s Carsela. a 12-to
24-month-old kid. Carsela was the
junior champion for Laura Ander
son, who captured all the Alpine
honors except for the reserve
junior champion, which went to
her sister, Kathleen Anderson,
with a kid under 4 months named
Amazon.
In the LaMancha breed, Ben
Hendricks. Phoenixville. was
grand champion with his under
-4-month-old kid, Samantha. Sean
Holz, Phoenixville, was runner-up
with Falena, also an under
4-month-old kid. Tammy Yeager.
Spring City, won the major awards
for the Nubian breed with her 2-to
3- doe. Jasmin, which was
named grand champion, and her
under 4-month-old kid taking
reserve grand champion and junior
champion. Becky Hendricks,
Phoenixville, was the reserve
junior champion with Mandy, a
12- to 24-month-old kid.
Theresa Holz, Phoenixville,
won all the ribbons for the Oberha
sli goats. Hersey, a 5-year-and
older doe, was the grand and senior
champion. Her under 4-month-old
kid, Lollipop, was junior and
reserve grand champion. She had a
2-to 3-year-old doe. Cocoa, that
captured the reserve senior champ
ionship. The Toggenburg awards
went to Jason Wagner, Spring
City, with Rhonda, a 3-to 5-year
old doe, being named senior and
grand champion 1 . His aged doe.
Reba, was reserve senior and
reserve grand champion. In the
registered grade- category, Amy
Sutter, a first-year member from
Spring City, had the junior and
grand champion with an under
-- kid named Klara.
The highlight of the roundup
was when the judge selected Laura
Anderson’s grand champion
Alpine doe, Jessmine, for best in
show honors. Theresa Holz was
close behind with the grand
champion Oberhasli doe, Hersey.
In the fitting and showing com
petition, Kathleen Anderson,
Landenberg, was the senior
champion (for members more than
14 years old) for fitting and show
ing. In the junior competition, Lau
ra Anderson, Landenberg, was
fust for showing and Becky Hen
dricks, Spring City, captured the
fitting tide. Amy Sutter, Spring
City, was picked as the best first

Class 26 had two entries, Nevin
G. Rice, Blain and Jeff Kauffman,
Mifflintown.
Winning entries from Class 27
were, in order, Virgil Gulshall, Jr.,
Blain; 2. Jleidel Hollow Farm,
Germansville; Jeff Kauffman,
Mifflintown.
In Class 28 competition, the fol
lowing wot in order Virgil Gut
shall, Jr., Blain; Nevin G. Rice,
Blain; and Jeff Kauffman,
Mifflintown.
Class 29 had the following
results: Jeff Kauffman, Mifllin
town and R.E. Shearer and Family,
Port Royal.
In the last. Class 30 had only
two winning entries: Jeff Kauff
man, Mifflintown and Chase Eut
zy, Huntingdon.
