The Adams County 4-H Horse Clubs held their annual
roundup on July 31 at the South Mountain Fairgrounds 4-H
grooming and showmanship winners, pictured left to right,
are Amy Sherman, representing KC Acres, who donated the
champion plaque for the 16 years and older division. Next Is
Beth Hawkins, the reserve champion for the 16 years and
older. The plaque was donated by New Oxford Agway, Ken
Ebert.
Heather Hawkins was the reserve champion for groom
ing and showmanship 13 to 15 years and the plaque was
donated by 72 Ranch. Travis Rhodes was the champion in
the 12-year-and-under division. The plaque was donated by
Hoke Mills, Inc.
Reserve champion In the 12-year-and-under division was
Emily Williams. The plaque was donated by Andgrow Fertil
izer. Melissa Hawkins was the champion for the

4-H Horse Clubs
The Adams County 4-H horse clubs held
their annual roundup at the 4-H Fair on July
31 at the South Mountain Fairgrounds.
Thirty 4-H members exhibited their horses
and ponies in at least one of the 44 classes.
Each member works with their animal ail
year and fill out a project book for this
animal.
Each member must attend five club meet
ings throughout the year, collect two class
sponsors, give a presentation, complete their
book, and receive a grooming and showman
ship score.
The top three entries or top. two pair in
these classes are eligible to move on and
compete in the District VI 4-H Horse Show
to be held on August 28 at the Lebanon
County Fairgrounds.
