The annual fund rais er will be held at VFW Pavilion along Rt. 45 three miles east of the Ag Progress Days site. A reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. and bar becue chicken served at 6 p.m. According to Gruber, all announced GOP candidates have been invited. They include Tom Ridge, six-term congressman from Erie; Ernie Preate, Scranton, state attorney general; Barbara Hafer, Pitts burgh, state auditor general; slate senators Michael Fisher, Pitts burgh, and Earl Baker, Paoli; and businessman Sam Katz, Philadelphia. Some of my most memorable fair events, besides being crowned as the fair queen, were the Big Wheel Races and the Fanner’s Night. It was such a joy watching the little “tykes” and their big wheels and handing out ribbons and trophies to the.victors. Far mer’s Night was like stepping back into the past. It was great fun!
