Calves $l.OO to $3.00 lower with exception of several loads reputation brand calves fully steady. Calf market responded to wont heat wave in 10 years. Temperature reached 102 degrees with heat index of 112 degrees. Demand for yearlings good; demand for calves light to moderate. Calf supply aver age to very attractive in quality but mostly soft Overall, quality and conditions better for buyers than last week; quality of year ling supply average thru attractive with average to slightly thin flesh. Weigh-ups average to several full but still an improve ment for buyers from last week. Slaughter cows Sl.oo-52.00 higher with excellent demand. Slaughter bulls steady to $l.OO lower with light demand. Receipts this week 10,050; last week 11,300; last year 7,666.
