Distinction
John and Judith Llgo are young fanners that take a long range view ofthe
dairy Industry. They are especially pleased with the Dairy of Distinction
program because they have visitors to the farm and they believe farm beau
ty does make an impression on the public milk drinkers. They farm 1026
acres In Mercer County north of Qrove City. The farm has been in the family
since 1958. New dairy facilities were built three years ago for 200 cows.
They have 180 Holstein cows that average 18,700 lbs. of milk and additional
182 head of young stock.

County. They have 128 Registered Holsteins with 62 cows and a rolling herd
average 0f22,000 lbs. of milk. They have a tie stall operation and raise com
and alfalfa for the cows. Located north of Reedsvllle, Rod’s grandfather
bought the farm 40 years ago.
