Attend FFA Week
Five students from Red Lion
Area High School recently attend
ed FFA Activities Week at Penn
State, competing in state contests
and attending the Summer Con
vention along with approximately
1,200 other FFA members, advi
sors, and guests.
Those attending who received
awards were Shanna Daugherty,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geof
frey Daugherty, who received a
gold award in meats judging;
LeAnn Graham, daughter of
Glenn Graham, who received a
bronze award in the dairy judging
contest; and Tracey Willwcrt,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
Willwert, who received a bronze
award in horse judging.

Also attending the convention
was former National FFA officer
Marty Coates. He presented a
leadership workshop on goal set
ting and was the featured speaker
at the first session of the conven
tion. The featured speaker at the
second session of the convention
was former Pennsylvania officer
Andy Rill.
The students were accompanied
to the annual statewide event,
which is sponsored by the Penn
sylvania Department of Vocation
al Education and Penn State’s De
partment of Agricultural and Ex
tension Education, by Guy W.
Nauglc, Jr., agricultural education
instructor.
