The Kline Family owns and operates their 65 cow Ramona Holsteins herd near
Myerstown, Lebanon County. Pictured above left to right are Sharon holding Joshua,
Jason, John Kline and Duane Nolt, herdsman at the halter of Ginger. Ginger is an
excellent 6 year old with 4 lactations totaling over 115,000 lbs. milk and currently at
126 lbs. milk/day.
The herd is fed a one group TMR utilizing their homegrown feedstuffs and Purina’s
“Ultimate EXT”. In addition high producers are top dressed with the “EXT” accord
ing to production and body condition.
Feeding Purina from Umbergers of Fontana since September 1988 John sees real
value in the nutritional service and research proven products they provide. He shares
these results with using Ultimate EXT in his herd.
• The first-calf heifers are peaking higher and persisting longer
• Second-lactation cows milking extremely well- No sophmore slump!
• The cows have been breeding back earlier with calving interval down to 12.8
• Overall peak milk has improved
