Plant Material Center at Big Flats,
New York, celebrates the expan
sion of its plant development
capabilities with an open house
and tour of the new greenhouse,
laboratory, and seed processing
facility on Thursday, July 8. A
dedication ceremony takes place
between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
The Big Flats Plant Material
Center (PMC) is one of 26 centers
operated by die U.S. Department
of Agriculture to find vegetative
solutions to conservation prob
lems in varied topographic and
climatic regions throughout the
country. Established in 1940, the

stabilize and repair shorelines,
stream, and roadbanks.
