and Stocker steers over 600 lbs. as well as
heifers over 500 lbs. Sl.oo-52.00 higher.
Lighter weight cattle near steady, however
part of this supply it new crop calves and
these trading at their usual lower levels.
Trade continued last week's veiy active
pace with excellent demand for both steers
and heifers. Quality of supply is improved,
average to attractive. Flesh condition con
tinues attractive, slightly thin to average,
end fleshy. Weigh condition a bit detri
mental to buyers, average to moderately
full. Wheat harvest started this week and
expected to be in full swing through next
week. Slaughter cows Sl.oo-52.00 higher.
Slaughter bulls 52.00-53.00 higher.
Slaughter cattle trade very active. Receipts
this week 11,000; last week 13,928; last
year 9,516. Supply consisted of 87% feed
ers and Stockers over 600 lbs.; 10% calves
and light yearlings under 600 lbs.; 3%
cows and bulls. Bulk price ranges follow
with weighted averages in parenthesis.
