Avian Influenza Restrictions
HARRISBURG (Dauphin
Co.) The state Department of
Agriculture has announced that it
has reduced restrictions for the
movement of poultry under its
order of general quarantine
because of the presence of HSN2
Avian Influenza.
The quarantine has been in
effect since Jan. 20, was amend
twice since and now has been
amended again, since no more
cases have been discovered as state
workers continue to monitor and
lest birds.

amended quarantine printed in its
cntirity on page C4l, “The inter
state quarantine order... restricting
the importation of live poultry has
been rescinded effective June 1.”
The new order maintains certain
restrictions however, such as man
dating that “no coop, cage, crate,
or other conveyance may enter a
farm in Pennsylvania for the pur
pose of removing eggs or live
poultry unless ... (they) are in a
sanitary condition.”
